Book Launch: “Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in Canada and the United States: A Fragmented Peace”

Friday, October 2, 2026 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

We are delighted to announce the launch of a book co-edited by the Athena Initiative Director, Dr. Shirley Graham, along with Nisha Singh and Katrina Leclerc, who collaborated over a two-year process to produce “Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in Canada and the United States: A Fragmented Peace”. The WPS agenda is a global policy calling on UN member states to include women in all aspects of peace and security, including the prevention of violent extremism, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and peacekeeping. The book maps developments, challenges, and opportunities for advancing the implementation of the WPS agenda in Canada and the US.

We are hosting this event in collaboration with the US Civil Society Working Group on WPS (CSWG) and the WPS Network Canada (WPSN-C). The format is a dinner party-style event, starting with a fireside chat with the editors and moving to roundtable conversations with chapter authors. All are welcome. We hope to see you there.
